Ella B. Warner Quilt and SchoolbookUpstairs, a wedding quilt made by Ella B. Warner in 1889 when she was 16 years old is on display. Ella made this quilt in preparation for her wedding. Ella went to a one-room schoolhouse in Green and one of her books in also on display.
The quilt and book were donated by Clara Cormany and her family in 2021. Ellen "Ella" Barbara Warner was born on August 22, 1871, in Ohio to Sarah A. Kreighbaum, age 34, and John J. Warner, age 34. She married Aaron Ernest Warner (not a close relation) in Summit, Ohio, on April 11, 1895, when she was 23 years old. Apparently, Ella's quilt had to wait a long 7 years for her wedding. Ella and Aaron were married for 24 years until Ella's death in 1918. They had six daughters and a son. Their daughter Almeda Warner married Roland F. Cormany in 1920. |
