Fossils and our Natural History
Fossils - Fossils are the preserved remains of a plant or animal, or traces or marks left behind by a plant or animal. Fossils can be several thousand years old to many million years old. The glaciers dropped the fossils in Green way before our first settlers arrived.
Many fossils found in Green are the remains of plants and animals that lived much further north where Canada is today. These fossils were carried to Green by glacial runoff.
