"The high school was housed in various locations and building prior to the construction of the "new" high school in the late 1920s. That building was the first phase of what is now the John R. Kleckner Elementary School ... The reason for the new buildings was 'the rapid growth in attendance in our schools finds each class crowded and with an overflow in the Grange Hall' ... As time went on, there were two additions to this building which officially housed Green Township High School but was known more familiarly as Greensburg High School.
"Fall, 1956, 540 students entered the 'new' high school which is now the Intermediate School on Steese Road. The official name was changed to Green High School to accurately reflect the area which the school served ... As time went on, in 1963 there was an addition to this building.
"Fall, 1996, 1,000 students are entering the new Green High School building -- a building for the community."
In 2006, an addition was built onto Green High School.
