This one room schoolhouse was made by dollhouse artist David Wiedie to the specifications of Regena Smith Gregory in 1974. Regena was a kindergarten teacher who taught first grade at Old Trail School and kindergarten at Portage Path elementary in Akron until 1976. It is on loan from the Edwin James and Jennifer Cauffield family. Edwin is a grandson to Gad Blakeslee, one of the original settlers to Weymouth in 1816.

Regena was all she could be
to those who knew her:

A loving faithful wife,
An inspiring, nurturing mother, A fun-loving, indulgent grandmother, 
And not long a stranger to whomever she met.

A teacher who showed the children,
whose lives she touched,
how to search out and appreciate
the beauty of the world and all its creatures

Regena celebrated every holiday with glee,
sang every song to be sung, and 
traveled every road that time allowed,
collecting treasures and friendships along the way.
Forever curious, independent and hopeful,
she sought out and enjoyed life to its fullest.

Those who knew her will forget her not,
for she reigns in our hearts forever.

David Wiedie Obituary 
David A. Wiedie, 73, died Oct. 3, 2002.

A life resident of Akron and a U.S Army veteran, he was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Sharon Golf Club. He retired with 38 years of service from General Tire, where he was director of purchasing.

Mr. Wiedie is survived by wife, Elanor; son, Dr. David A. (Nancy) Wiedie of Hudson; daughter, Susan (J. Shannon) Gregson of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Robbie, Kate, and Jack Wiedie, and J.D. Gregson; and brother Alan (Gretchen) Wiedie of Bolton, Conn.
