The Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Green designated Greensburg Cemetery as Green's eighth local landmark at their June 21, 2011 meeting. The Local Landmark Committee of the Green Historical Society researched the historical significance of the property and prepared the application for local landmark designation with the full support of the property owner, the City of Green. Becky Witsaman, Historian of the Green Historical Society, presented the research findings to the Commissioners at the June 21st meeting.
