The members of the Green Historical Society have been invited to attend the City Council Committee Meetings next Tuesday, March 24th at 5pm at the Central Administration Building. This meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the potential future uses of the German Schoolhouse currently located near the Arlington and 619 intersection. This site will soon be the location of a new Circle K gas station and the schoolhouse will need to be moved quickly to clear this site. The GHS Board has confirmed our attendance with Chris Humphrey, Council President, and is preparing a short Power Point presentation about the historical significance of the German Schoolhouse to share at this meeting. Please note that the discussion regarding the Schoolhouse will not begin until about 5:30 pm.
All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. ALL CITIZENS OF GREEN ARE ENCOURAGED AND WELCOME TO ATTEND - THIS IS A PUBLIC MEETING. This is your opportunity to make your opinions known about the fate of the German Schoolhouse. Please consider attending and utilizing this opportunity. Please be prepared to discuss not only your thoughts regarding saving the schoolhouse but also potential reuse options that would make saving the schoolhouse a fiscally sound investment for the City of Green and/or a private organization. Thank you. Staci Schweikert Secretary
