TRIP TO AKRON-SUMMIT PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR RESEARCH The Green Historical Society will be hosting an outing to visit the Kepler-Coss Collection of Green Local History at the Akron-Summit County Public Library Special Collections Department on Saturday, July 16th at 9 am. Members and scholarship competitors (Green High students) will meet to caravan to downtown at Boettler Park near the tennis courts. The Kepler-Coss Collection contains the life's research of the late Bev Kepler-Coss on the history of Green Township . The description of the boxes and files available in the Kepler-Coss Collection can be found at http://www.akronlibrary.org/internetresources/sc/finding/keplercoss.pdf and see the attached pdf. There are not many topics in Green's history that Bev did not begin to research and document. If you are interested in researching a local history topic or would like to just learn about the collection, please join us on this outing. If you are unable to attend this outing, you may contact the Special Collections Department at [email protected] or 330.643.9030. I recommend reviewing the Kepler-Coss Collection Description (see attached) and determining which boxes may be relevant to your research prior to the outing. If you are planning to attend the outing and there is a particular box or file of interest, please contact [email protected] so that she can arrange to have the box pulled for you prior to our arrival. Please note we will plan another outing to the Bev Kepler-Coss Collection in the Fall. Thank you. The Green Historical Society has launched a new website for the Green Is America Scholarship. The Green Is America scholarship competition is a new partnership between the Green Historical Society and Green High School.
